Apeks Xtx 20 Second Stage. The XTX20 warm water regulator can be converted from a right handed hose configuration (as supplied from the APEKS factory in the standard) to a left handed one.

This feature is known as the Reversible Venturi System (RVS).

Changing the regulator to a left handed configuration is both quick and simple and can be performed by any APEKS Authorised Service Technician.


The XTX20 regulator incorporates the new feature of Diver Changeable Exhausts system (DCE).

This system gives the diver the ability to change from a small exhaust tee to a large exhaust tee.

This gives the user a choice of the wider exhaust tee for minimal bubble interference (essential for underwater photography) and the narrow exhaust tee for a smaller compact comfortable regulator (ideal for use as an octopus regulator).

The XTX20 regulator incorporates a new two-shot high strength composite front cover, improving the durability of the most vulnerable part of the demand valve.

The new ergonomic Venturi lever of the XTX20 has been designed to reduce the amount of grit ingress.

A new swivel hose connection is available at an extra cost.

This allows the demand valve end of the hose connection to rotate and pivot, providing a more comfortable fit.

A new silicone exhaust valve has been used on the XTX20 regulator improving breathing performance.

2nd stage Ellipse Balanced

Many of the exclusive technical characteristics of Ellipse, covered by 4 international patents, have been transferred to this new second stage.

Ellipse Balanced has a slightly larger casing which is made from a sound absorbing material, and a new diaphragm that further improves the already very low inhalation effort of Ellipse.

The pneumatic balancing system of the piston allows for constant performance at any depth and with any air pressure in the tanks.

An easy grip knob allows for the instant adjustment of the inhalation effort, even when wearing gloves, thus regulating it as first regulator or as spare regulator depending on the preferences of the user and the required use.

The regulation system is protected by a double seal and is fully protected from contact with water, thus maintaining smooth rotation even over time.

A small lever, located in the upper part of the casing, acts as a flow deviator and allows the Venturi effect to be adjusted. S600 SECOND STAGE

A second stage regulator must translate natural breathing behaviour into mechanical reality. A high quality second stage can significantly reduce stress and enhance diver safety by providing smooth, low-effort breathing response, resulting in ample yet controllable quantities of air.

The designation balanced and classic downstream are also distinguishing marks for second stages and again imply ultimate flow performance and stability in addition to reliability, simplicity and solid performance.


-The air-balanced valve technology of SCUBAPRO-s S600 second stage features a balancing chamber in the second stage mechanism, slightly offsetting the force of the downstream air entering from the first stage. This allows reduced spring tension and decreases the inhalation resistance to the lowest possible level. The result is super smooth breathing in all conditions. The air-balanced valve technology is featured in the X and S-Series second stages. For best results they should be combined with balanced first stages, like the MK25, MK19 or MK17.
