Apeks Atx 40 Octopus. The new ATX40 octopus is smaller and 25% lighter than its TX predecessor. This results in less jaw fatigue and less drag. This pneumatically balanced octopus is ideally suited for an over-balanced Apeks first stage. The diver has full control of the venturi by means of a lever so as to prevent accidental freeflow when the octopus is not being used. R295 OCTOPUS-The Ideal Octopus.

-Classic downstream valve. Classic downstream valves are particularly noted for their legendary safety and reliability. When in use,
the downstream valve opens in the same direction as the incoming air flow. To close the valve and stop the air flow, a spring counteracts the force of the incoming air. Therefore, a certain inhalation effort is always required to overcome the spring tension and open the valve.

-Fixed VIVA (Venturi Initiated Vacuum Assist) flow vane. Fixed in the pre-tuned ideal position for safe and uncomplicated use. VIVA is another SCUBAPRO patented feature, the VIVA is available on all SCUBAPRO second stages. VIVA uses the power of a vacuum assist to reduce work of breathing and increase breathing comfort. It is diver adjustable on all current SCUBAPRO second stages except the R295, since it is a second stage intentionally designed for diver training courses, rental facilities and divers demanding ready to use equipment. The SS-20 safe-second stage is the successor of our very reliable SS-10 octopus, yet is smaller and allows for both left and right hose configuration. The SS-20 Platina Octopus features a large front purge, deflection tube and deflector to reduce exhaust resistance for easier breathing. Equipped with a high visibility yellow housing and 33- yellow hose. The second stage also features a high density, long lasting silicone mouthpiece.
